What International City owners come to us for
International City is a cat area more than a dog area. The cats live in studios and 1-bedroom flats in the country clusters and in Warsan. A large share started as kittens picked up from a car park or a stairwell. The usual first visit is a health check, a first vaccination and a date for neutering.
A rescued kitten should be seen before it meets a cat you already own. The vet checks for cat flu, ear mites, fleas and ringworm, which spread easily in a small flat. A blood test for FeLV and FIV can be run in the clinic's lab during the same visit. The first vaccination package is AED 199.
Many residents work shifts or get home after 8 PM. The clinic is open until 12 AM every day, so an evening visit is normal here. If you do not drive, ask about a home visit. For breathing trouble, a fall or a blocked male cat, call the urgent care line before you set off.

International City is the closest large residential area to the clinic. Most drivers leave towards Ras Al Khor Road (E44) and turn into Ras Al Khor Industrial Area 3. The time is an off-peak estimate. The Directions button gives live traffic.

Living with pets in International City
Community cats in every cluster
Residents feed cats outside most buildings. Feeding without neutering can double a group within a year. Bringing in even 1 female makes a difference. Castration is AED 199 and a spay is AED 399, and the cat goes back the same day.
Windows on the third and fourth floor
The blocks are low, but a fall from the third floor still breaks jaws and legs. Most falls happen from a window left open for air in the cooler months. Fit a mesh screen, or open the window only a hand's width.
One new kitten, three sick cats
Cat flu and ringworm move quickly between cats that share 40 square metres. Keep a new kitten in the bathroom or one bedroom for 10 to 14 days. Use a separate litter tray and wash your hands between cats.
Male cats and the litter tray
A neutered male on dry food who drinks little is the typical cat with a blocked bladder. He goes to the tray again and again and passes nothing. That is an emergency at any hour. Call us at once.
Coming by taxi
Most taxi drivers accept a cat in a closed carrier. Tell the driver when you book. Line the carrier with a towel, because a frightened cat often urinates on the way. In summer, wait inside the lobby until the car arrives.
Tenancy and registration
Some buildings ask for proof that a pet is vaccinated and microchipped. The vaccination book we fill in shows both. Dubai Municipality registration also needs the microchip number and a valid rabies vaccination.
