A vaccine is a 20-minute visit. What matters is what happens when the cat on the table is not well enough for it.
A sick kitten is tested, not guessed
A kitten that sneezes or has diarrhoea on the day is not injected. The in-house lab and PCR name the cause the same day, and the vaccine is rebooked for when she is well.
One published price
AED 199 covers the examination, the ear check, the skin check and the combined vaccine. Rabies and the microchip are priced at the desk before they are given.

02Overview
Which vaccines a cat needs, and when
The combined vaccine protects against 3 viruses. They are panleukopenia, herpesvirus and calicivirus. Panleukopenia kills kittens within days. The other two cause cat flu, which can leave a cat with runny eyes for life. Rabies is a separate injection, given from 12 weeks of age.
A kitten has her first dose at 8 weeks. The dose is repeated every 3 to 4 weeks until she is 16 weeks old. Antibodies from the mother's milk block early doses, and nobody can tell on which day they fade. That is why one injection is not enough. A booster follows at 1 year, then yearly.
Every vaccine starts with a health check. A cat with a fever or diarrhoea is not vaccinated that day, because a sick body responds poorly. If a rescued kitten is sneezing or has a sore mouth, a PCR test can name the virus first. For a cat that fights the carrier, the same vaccines can be given on a home visit.

The visit, step by step
Walk in or book on WhatsApp. This is the usual order.

Before you leave home
Bring the vaccination book or any record from a previous vet. Put your cat in a closed carrier, not in your arms. Feed her as normal.

Weight and examination
10 minutesThe vet checks temperature, heart, eyes, mouth and belly. The ears are examined with an otoscope. The coat is checked for ringworm, which is common in kittens from shops and shelters.

The injection
Under a minuteThe vaccine goes under the skin. Most cats notice the nurse's hand more than the needle. Rabies, if due, is given at a different site.

The record
The vet signs the book, adds the batch sticker and writes the next due date. Keep this book. You need it for registration, boarding and travel.

Fifteen minutes nearby
After a first vaccine, stay near the clinic for 15 minutes. Reactions are rare. When they happen, they start early.

What is different in Dubai
A flat cat still needs vaccines
Panleukopenia survives on floors and shoes for up to a year. You can carry it in from the lift lobby. A cat on the 30th floor is exposed without ever leaving home.
Registration needs rabies
Dubai Municipality registration needs a microchip number and a valid rabies vaccine. The chip must be in place before the rabies dose is recorded.
Travel paperwork
Most countries want the rabies vaccine given at least 21 days before the flight. Some also ask for a rabies antibody blood test and a waiting period of months. Check the rules for your destination early.
Summer holidays and boarding
Catteries ask for vaccines that are in date. A booster takes about 2 weeks to reach full effect. Book it in May if you fly in July.
A kitten from the street
Keep a rescued kitten in a separate room from your other cats for 2 weeks. Bring her for a check before they meet. Cat flu spreads through shared bowls and sneezes.
Evening visits
The clinic is open from 8 AM to 12 AM every day. In summer, an evening visit means a cooler car and a calmer cat.
07Do not wait
Call us the same day if you see any of these after a vaccine
A quiet evening and a tender spot are normal for 24 to 48 hours. These signs are not.

- Collapse or a cat too weak to stand
- No food at all for 24 hours
- A lump at the injection site that is still growing after 1 month
08Afterwards
The two days after
Most cats sleep more on the first evening. Some eat a little less. A pea-sized lump under the skin is common and fades within 2 to 3 weeks.
Let her rest where she chooses. Do not give any human painkiller. Paracetamol is poisonous to cats, even in a small amount.
